“A lot is riding on Samsung to continue to get it right with Galaxy AI”, Ernest Doku, Uswitch mobiles expert comments on today’s launch of Samsung’s S25 range:“
Keeping pace with recent launches from competitors such as Honor, Xiaomi and OnePlus, Samsung has launched the S25 range with a set of important - yet somewhat predictable - upgrades, including a revamped ultrawide camera in the Ultra, and a custom AI-ready version of the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
“For consumers, this means all of the major Android-powered handsets are on a level playing field in terms of power under the bonnet, so it’s up to the brands to show off their innovation.
“Recent data from Uswitch shows that Brits most value AI tools that help with life admin (29%) and photo-editing (18%), which also appears to be Samsung’s focus in its latest upgrades.
“Despite AI features being a major focus for manufacturers, we found that currently, only 6% of people see it as the most important factor when upgrading their phone.
“The lukewarm reception to the iPhone 16, with its heavily-hyped AI features, has likely left consumers sceptical, so a lot is riding on Samsung to continue to get it right with Galaxy AI.
“Samsung has focused on integrating AI features into everyday use of the new S25 handsets, but the jury is still out on whether that’s enough to convince more UK consumers to upgrade their devices.
“The new S25 series is an impressive combination of bleeding-edge hardware and AI smarts with what it takes - at least on paper - to deliver real, noticeable value at a range of price points.”
