Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com, comments on Hyperoptic’s announcement that it will be introducing mid-contract price rises for new customers:

“From today, any new broadband customer signing up to Hyperoptic will be subject to a flat-rate £3 per month mid-contract price rise, kicking in from April 2026.

“It’s important to note that this change won’t affect existing customers, and currently only applies to those taking out a contract from Tuesday 3 June 2025.

“While this £3 per month flat-rate price rise is in line with what other big providers apply on a yearly basis, it will still be a significant monthly increase for customers to factor in when considering one of Hyperoptic’s deals.

“If you’re signing up to a new contract, always review the terms related to mid-contract price rises to make sure you’re clear on the total cost over the course of the contract period.

“We also want to remind customers that there are still some broadband providers, such as Trooli and YouFibre, who don’t raise prices mid-contract. So, if you’re looking for a fixed-price deal it’s worth running a comparison to see what else is out there.”
