“SSE have been looking for a fresh start for their retail energy business for the best part of two years. Ovo is a well known challenger supplier who topped the Uswitch energy awards this year.
“If this deal does materialise, Ovo may well bring a different feel to what SSE customers have traditionally been used to, as one of the companies at the forefront of new technologies such as smart meters and electric vehicles.
“But households affected would most want to know about the price they’re paying and the customer service they’re getting.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s the Big Six or the Big Five – any consumer who wonders whether they could be getting a better deal elsewhere should run a price comparison and check out the customer service reviews – you could save over £300 by switching.”
