Uswitch comments on introduction of auto-compensation for broadband and phone customers

Dani Warner broadband expert at Uswitch.com, says:  “Broadband is so essential to our everyday lives that we treat it as a fourth utility. For many, the prospect of any downtime is practically unmanageable – especially for the quarter (25%) of adults who work from home either part or full time.

“Admittedly the level of compensation – £8 per day without service from the third day and £25 per missed appointment – does not come close to making up for missing a day’s work, but the collective financial burden on providers should  increase the pressure to improve service and prevent long periods without connectivity.”
