Commenting on the latest figures from Energy-UK which show record numbers of people are switching electricity supplier in 2018, Uswitch.com energy expert Rik Smith says:
“Rising wholesale costs have led to more than one price rise a week this year. Nevertheless, more and more households across the country are showing the energy companies who’s boss and switching to cheaper tariffs. Throughout the scorching summer, whether from a deck chair on the beach or the sofa at home, record numbers of people have been shopping around, finding better deals, and saving up to £482 in the process.
“The message is simple – don’t sit back and take it when your supplier tells you that prices are going up and don’t assume you’ll be on a good deal under a price cap. You can find huge savings and keep the pressure on energy companies to offer better tariffs in just a few minutes by switching.”
