Commenting on the possibility that ITV might withdraw its channels from Virgin Media, Dani Warner, TV expert at Uswitch.com, says: “Virgin Media customers who are concerned that ITV’s stable of channels may soon be removed from their boxes needn’t worry that this will mean missing out on ITV programming completely.

“Customers can still watch their favourite ITV programmes – from The Voice to Coronation Street – should the broadcaster’s agreement with the provider fall apart.

“All TVs manufactured after 2010 have Freeview – a free-to-air service – built in. Freeview hosts ITV’s various stable of channels – ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and ITVBe – and all have a +1 sister channel built in.

“To get access to these channels, customers need to make sure their TV is connected to a working aerial and that the device is tuned to these channels. Customers with streaming sticks can also access ITV Hub that way too.

“So fans of Love Island counting down the days to the final need not despair should the ITV and Virgin deal fall apart.”
