Commenting on the launch of the OnePlus 5T, Ru Bhikha, mobiles expert at Uswitch.com, says: “The OnePlus 5T boasts many of its predecessor’s most celebrated features and also includes an all-new edge-to-edge AMOLED display and Bezel-free screen that has become the new norm, bringing the 5T in line with the newest devices from the bigger manufacturers.
“Packed with features and coming in £240 under the Samsung S8 and less than half the price of the iPhone X, the OnePlus 5T is an attractive alternative to the market leaders’ flagship handsets.
“The timing of the launch is savvy, and with Black Friday just days away and the all too critical Christmas sales season in sight, success for the OnePlus 5T will depend largely on avid fans embracing this latest model – as well as the ability to entice those less acquainted with the brand.
“However, whilst a pre-Black Friday launch could pay dividends there could be a trade off with launching a mid-cycle upgrade less than six months after the OnePlus 5.
“The challenge will be in delivering a launch cycle that not only maintains sales but deftly manages to prevent alienating fans who might feel irked by a newer model coming out in the near future.”
