Uswitch.com, the price comparison and switching service, has won the ‘Most Innovative Use of Mobile’ and the ‘Chairman’s Award’ at the Drum MOMA awards for its energy switching mobile app.
Held at the Emirates Stadium in London, Uswitch fought off stiff competition from several well-known apps. The uSwitch app team impressed the judges by implementing a QR code scanner so consumers can scan their energy bill and switch supplier in seconds, saving customers an average of £360 each and £5 million in total.
Steve Weller, CEO of Uswitch.com says: “We are incredibly proud of our app, which has made cutting down sky-high energy bills simpler than ever for millions of consumers. Using our app, customers can scan their bill, switch supplier and receive alerts when a cheaper deal is available, meaning they never need to overpay for energy again.
“We have big plans to bring more services in to the app this summer, including mobile and broadband comparison, so getting better deals across a range of products will be easier than ever.”
