Commenting on new figures from Which? revealing that more action is needed to reduce the millions of households stuck on expensive standard energy tariffs, Ann Robinson, Director of Consumer Policy at Uswitch.com, says: “The majority of us are languishing on expensive, standard energy deals, despite the fact that switching could cut £295 a year from the average bill.
“Ofgem reforms have failed to get more consumers off the most expensive tariffs, which is why they urgently need to look at other ways to get more people shopping around.
“In the meantime, customers should take matters into their own hands by switching to a more competitive deal before the cold weather bites.”
