How many EDF EV tariffs are there?

As of October 2025, EDF has two EV tariffs available. Each one works slightly differently, so read on to find out which one might best meet your needs. All of them can be dual fuel deals to cover your gas usage (if applicable) as well.

EDF GoElectric

EDF GoElectric is the provider’s simplest EV tariff. It offers five hours of ultra-low-rate electricity at night so customers can charge their EVs for less. This provides the most flexibility in terms of when you might want to charge the car, but will probably mean that you pay the highest rates to do so. However, you don’t need to have a smart meter to sign up, which may be an attractive feature if you’d rather not have one.

EDF Evolve

EDF Evolve is a tracker tariff which follows the energy price cap level as it changes throughout the year. It guarantees you'll pay less than the price cap but also includes off-peak energy rates that can be used to charge an EV for less.

Is there anything else I can get with my EDF EV tariff?

Customers can bolt on a Smart Charging feature to either of EDF's EV tariffs, which will allow the supplier to automatically charge their vehicle when energy prices are at their lowest. The cheaper rates are also applied to home energy use during these periods.

Additionally, customers who sign up will earn £60 bill credit each year.

Will EDF's EV tariffs work with my car?

Yes - both tariffs are compatible with any make or model of electric vehicle.

How do I switch to an EDF EV tariff?

You can join one of EDF’s EV tariffs whether you’re already an existing customer or not. You'll need to have a compatible smart meter - if you don’t, EDF will arrange for one to be installed, which it estimates could take between two and four weeks.
